I wanted to share a few project that I have done around the house lately.

I Have Pet Peeve

Every afternoon, my whole family one at a time asks "what's for supper"

this annoys me

Stupid little things, I know but it bothers me.

Pinterest, the place of all inspiration, taught me I could make my own white board from just a piece of glass.

Off to the clearance frame section of Michaels to find a nice frame

then to the sewing room for a nice scrap of fabric

38 and 1 Month

Ok, So I have made it 1 month of being 38, and if you recall I said I planned to ROCK 38!

So far, So good,

(sorry for poor picture quality)

I do wish I had done all of my measurements when I started this, just for curiosity sake, I did them now a month in.

I made the comment on another blog a few weeks back about my "Baby weight" being 9 years old, right then I knew it was time to do something about it, I am not getting any younger, and it is not leaving on it's own

I am proud of myself, I am making better life decisions. I am working out, faithfully, daily!

I am NOT drinking Coke anymore, that was not even a choice I had made to change, it just sorta happened, and if you knew me you knew I NEEDED a Coke every afternoon, now, I can hardly finish the can.

I am eating better, and feeling more confident! Happy to be ME, Happy about me!

I DO NOT own a scale, so I have no idea how much weight I have lost, but I have gone down at least 2 pant sizes, my husband asked if I could take my pants off without undoing them, as the children used to when they were little, and I could, slipped right off!!

I have added weights to my workouts, trying to build muscle at the same time.

The Sears spring catalogue came yesterday, with the cutest bathing suit on the cover, ( I tried to find the picture but can't) I told me husband if I looked like the model by summer I was buying that suit, he said to go ahead and buy it, because I would!

Project Life~ the Beginning

Once again this year I am working with Becky Higgins Project Life. I found this way of photo display last year and really enjoyed it. It is meant to help us remember the little things in life as well as the big things. It is meant to be used in a photo a day type of thing with a two page spread at a week of your life, but who am I kidding it gets busy around here at different times of the year, so it doesn't always work that way. Lat year I left my album right out in the open so I could keep on top of it, and I really enjoyed how it became a diary of sorts, if we wanted to know when something happened we checked Project Life. I also enjoyed how others when they came to our house would look at it and enjoy it as well.

Like I said I decided to carry on with it again this year. In the beginning I thought I would start a little different. I know things change, styles change, likes change... I went around the house and took pictures of things that meant something to us now, today, it will be nice to look back on in the future.

I got to go first since my birthday starts the year off, and 'cause I am the mom and I said so"

Right now these things are important to me, my favorite slippers, my workouts, my weights to go with my workouts. I am getting much better at my coke, I used to have a can a day, now I am down to about 1 or 2 a week!! My Bath & Body works soaps a lotions.

I used a tutorial from Ali Edward about printing pictures 3x4 for the smaller spots int he album, but then decided to mount this one on a larger journaling card, because it seemed to fight " Life is What WE make it!

more importants, 1 cup of coffee a day, my Blackberry, but I am really wanting to trade with my son for his Iphone, books, love to read, sewing machine, scraproom, camera, and family as crazy as they my be!!

My daughter turned 16!

WOW where did the time go, seems I was hugely pregnant not that long ago, and then I had the most beautiful bundle in my arms

I remember all of it, like it was yesterday. Cold, Cold day, like -30 or colder even. My dad was shut down trucking so he was the first visitor we had, and then my mom and sister came the next day.

Fast forward, now she is 16!!

I decided to document her day in pictures

First thing in the morning, still looks like the same 15 year old that went to bed the night before. Off to get ready for her busy day in the city.

First stop, Dr Goldade Orthodontist

I happened to mention that we were only the down side of the "brace" mountain, and he replied with "only 10 more weeks"!!! Total shocker, we both thought it would be until at least summer!

From there, SHE DROVE (for the first time in the city)to the mall, where we had lunch.

Then it was off to the dentist for a cleaning

After that, she drove over to Warehouse One to spend the gift card she got for her birthday from her aunty. Then off to the last appointment of the day, the Optometrist

After that we had to get a few groceries, and then off to Moxies for supper and dessert, before she drove us home.

Had a moment of panic, I made the card, took the picture of the card, sealed the card in an envelope and mailed it off!!

Later in the week the memory card the picture was on, go wrecked, and only today did I realize THE card was on it, so I dug it out of the garbage, and patched it together and hoped it would work....IT DID

Technical Difficulties~ It must be Monday

I should have just stayed in bed this morning

My compact photo printer is not printing as it should, the pictures are all dark. This is such a neat printer too, because it prints 2x3 which is the perfect size for the small spots in the Project Life Album

My laptop seems to have gone on strike this morning as well, none of the USB ports, or the card readers will work, I can't get it to do anything

I broke a Memory card over the weekend as well, good thing the pictures on it were already on the computer, not that I can get it to print them AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH

The weather has turned cold as well, and I HATE winter, -24 this morning, with a wind chill, feels like -32. Lovely day in the neighbourhood!

Good thing we took Saturday to sort our calves and tag them to get them ready for auction this week, now we just have to load them in these temps

It was only -3 when we did this job

On the up side, I am on day 15 of my 30 day workout!! Still doing great. I have no idea if I have lots weight nor not, I don't have a scale in my house. I work out for 2 days and rest a day and then do it over again, as well I have been doing boxing work outs and tennis. My hubby says I have shrunk so that must mean it is working!!

The weather has been amazing for January in Canada, even reaching above 0!!

warm weather has made for lots of time being spent outside building our new corrals.

the warm weather has also made crusty snow, you know the kind, where it melts a bit or gets rained on top and gets that top crust??

I feel so bad, yesterday afternoon, the kids were going stir-crazy so I told them to go play outside. My poor Josh came back looking like this, they were riding in the sled and he turfed it out, onto the crusty snow. He was pretty tough though, didn't cry. Tells he it really hurts this morning, I guess we get a cuddle day today.

I am doing pretty well, day 4 of my 30 day workout routine. I am doing A/E Sports Active with the Wii, and they make up a 30 day program for you, so far, so good.

I love the energy you get after a workout, make you feel so good!!

I got my Project Life goodies, and am all ready to start another year. My project life album usually lives on the counter in the dining room, and I love how my family both close and extended look at it every chance they can.

Happy New Year!!

wow 2012 already, seems not that long ago people were panicking about the world ending for 2000!!

Along with new year is my birthday, get it over right at the start of the year!

38, wow, again how did that happen?

Do you ever step back and look at your life and wonder, "how did I get here"

At what point did I grow up, when did I start being the parent, making the decisions, making the rules, being the one in charge?

I am happy where I am in my life, 38 is not a scary number.

I plan to ROCK 38!!

I have a wonderful husband, who spoils me greatly, but says I am worth it!

I have 3 beautiful children;

A daughter who is my friend as well as my daughter, my helper, my cook and my maid when called upon

A son, who is awesome, I am certain if not for him, there would be much more work for my husband and myself, he is such a tremendous help

Another son, who can make you smile, and know when you need a cuddle.

I have a beautiful new house, it provides us with shelter and warmth, a place to gather or just hang out.

I love that I am able to be a stay at home mom with my children, to be able to drive them for dance and school events, to be able to attend school events as well.

I love that I am able to be home with my husband every day, it does take a special relationship to be able to be with your spouse 24/7, we have managed to find the in between place that works for us.

I plan to make a few changes, like lose a little more weight, (I would love to sport a bikini next summer) I have more recipes that I want to try, both cooking and baking wise.

I plan to succeed in my Scentsy business!

I plan to keep my office a little more organized, and my books kept up to date!

I plan to read more, than I already do!

I plan to spend more time with friends either with a good coffee or good wine!

I plan to be able to look back at this post a year from now, and say

"yes, I did all that, and I rocked 38!!"

I just wanted to stop for a minute in all of the busy-ness. The baking is done, well almost the Butterhorns are going in the over right now, if I had made them any earlier they would not have lasted.

The cleaning is almost done, just have to do a quick haircut and the last of the vacuuming and floors will be washed!!

I wanted to share some crafty goodness.

My daughter and I made all of our gift card holders and the gift tags for on the presents

These are the cute little gift card holders, and just the right size too! The nieces and nephews are teenagers and gift cards seem to be the gift of choice.

I have been showing our recent Family pictures, while we had the photographer here we decided to get my husbands family pictures done as well. His side of our family opted for more "true to us" type pictures, we were out in the pasture with the cows, and across with the bales.

Good Morning!

hmmmm let me see, what happened last week.....

Took my daughter to her orthodontist appointment, and finished all of my Christmas shopping

Took my husband to the city the next day, so he could do his shopping

Christmas concert at the school, very cute. I do wonder though, when I was young we used to do Christmas themed plays, all they do now is sing, and the grade 4's square danced, no where in my memory is square dancing part of Christmas.

Friday night we hosted the RBC Youth Group Christmas party at our place, they decorated gingerbread houses

We had a quiet weekend, my daughter and I spent some time crafting on Sunday afternoon, and then we had friends over for supper and a visit on Sunday night.

The best was this morning, while I was standing waiting for my coffee, I was looking out the window, once again thinking how much I LOVE living out at the farm!!

the frost on the deck rail was just amazing!!

I do have 1 more thing from my gift packages to show you as well

A great note pad tin, this is great for in purses or vehicles, because the tin won't let it get wrecked, and you can save receipts or what not in it as well.

Stayed tuned this week for some more crafty goodness.

I am off now, have Christmas cards to address, I know, I know, wait to the last minute much, I ordered them online, and they are just getting here today, I might even start wrapping Christmas gifts today too.

Good Morning, Happy Monday, December 12, half way to Christmas, finished all your shopping yet, I haven't

I did get a good jump on my baking last week, Cherry tarts, Apple tarts, Molasses cookies, cinnamon twists, toffee bars, cuban lunch cups & peppermint brownie cookies all made and in the freezer! Just need to make the sugar cookies and spritz cookies!

Archery started at out school last week, all 3 of the children are planning on taking part!

Had a few sick kids last week, a few runny noses, and bad coughs, but luckily they didn't seem to last long

Had my Sister in laws here for the weekend, with her 2 cats, the tree is still up, they didn't even attempt to climb it! Just played more under the tree skirt. Hopefully when they come back at Christmas they are as well behaved!

I have a few more item from my Christmas craft packs ready to show you!!

These little cup cozies are great for when you are out on the go and stop by a coffee shop for a hot drink, you know when they are so hot, in their paper cups you can't hold on to them!! I checked Etsy, they are selling for over $10. I thought they were neat, and I could make 2 during a half hour show on tv in the evenings.

I have been playing with some digital scrapbooking over at Heritage MakersThey have a easy to use website, I started using them last year, when we had our other family pictures taken, (the ones in my blog header) and I used them for last years Christmas cards, I was too late this year with my card order. Anyhow, I have been playing making word art posters for around our house, and decided I wanted to add a picture to one poster and ended up with a very nice scrapbook page for my daughter. (I am not done, I will get pages for my boys, I promise)

Last week sure flew by!

I helped my husband build our new corrals!!

I learned how to weld, on the new corrals. My husband tried to take a picture of this, but I finished faster than he could. He was going to take one of me in my coveralls, and such, but didn't do that either.

Had a hair appointment, tired a new hairdresser. Very happy with the results, love the color, little red in it this time.

Did some sewing, trying to get my Christmas gift packs put together, just a few more things to knit and a few more things to sew. On the up side, the ones going south to the US, will be on their way, this morning as you read this, so Dawn & Kathleen watch your mail!!!

I will show you a few of the things in the pack, but you will have to come back next week to see more.

These are some of the notebook, purse books, and grocery lists I made.

I CANNOT seem to wake up this morning!, Got my coffee beside me here, hope that helps, guess my weekend away is catching up with me.

Pictures make me happy, I love taking them, looking at them, scrapbooking them, all of it!!

Back on Thanksgiving, we hosted my whole family out here at our farm, and hired a Photographer to come out and take some new family photos, it had been at least 11 years since we had the last ones done!

Miscellany Monday

I am home, I made it!! I drove 8 hours and shopped for 3 days, and then drove home 8 Hours!!!

I did it and I survived!!

We don't have the store like the bigger centers do, Bath & Body Works, Victorias Secret, Pink, Williams & Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Hollister, Abercrombie, Aeropostle...I am sure I could go on

No, I didn't buy somthing in all of these stores, but it was neat to see them

I had a great time with my cousin, we had a few of those moments, you know the ones, where you are laughing so hard, you are making funny noises, tears are rolling down your cheeks...We drank some wine, Stayed up late, drank Starbucks!!

I came home and the house wasn't even in too bad of shape, and my plants were still alive. Pantry and fridge need re-stocking, but that I can handle.

Got our family pictures back, the ones we had taken, back on our Canadian Thanksgiving, vry happy with them, now to get my Christmas cards made, and sent out

A Lot been going on around here lately

My middle child turned 13, I am not sure how this happened! I was sure he was about 15!!! He does so much around here, he is such a big help to his dad, and we love him for that!!!

We had our first blizzard of the season, last Thursday, got more wind than snow, but when your yard is up on a hill with not a lot of trees around, it looks way aorse than it is.

I have been crafting, made Christmas cards for my sister in law, and for my cousin. At least THEY like the home made ones better than the store boughts.

Re-arranged the basement TV room, but this was so I could see the TV better while I was crafting, purely selfish reason there!!

Been knitting.

Still attending Zumba, still love it!!

Got a phone call Friday after noon, our town was holding a Fall Trade Show, and the other lady who sold Scentsy, was from over an hour away, and becasue of our little blizzard, she didnt want to come out, so they offered the table to me!!! ( I had tried to secure the table, but she had beat me to it, and they only wanted 1 table for each company) Anyway, I spent the rest of the day Friday, gathering up my stuff, and getting ready. I would say it was a success!! Now people in our area know I sell Scentsy, and where they can get it from. While I was there I also heard about a Trade Show in the next town in a few weeks, so I signed up for that one too!!

My middle son, was hunting and got his 2 Mule Deer!! Still waiting for "the big one" for his White Tail Deer though.

Short week this week, I am travelling to the BIG city, the kids have Thursday and Friday off this week, so I am taking my daughter and her bestie, shopping in the big CITY for the weekend. Should be interesting, an 8 hour drive away. I am excited to get to my Christmas shopping!!!

I did have more outfits, but once I seen them in my editing program, there was NO amount of editting that was going to fix them. Just not good. I guess I need to find a new spot to take the pics, the camera just does not like the spot now that it is not as bright out.

Happy Tuesday!!

Wow, November...already!!

Today being November 8th, is my youngest's 9th birthday. My baby is 9 years old...already, time sure flies!! This does not make me happy, it makes me sad, they are growing up WAY to fast

November means the Halloween decoration go away, and the Christmas stuff can slowly come out!!! Christmas decoration make me happy!!

As I mentioned yesterday, my cousin stopped in for a visit. Our daughters decided they would put up my Christmas village, and about 3 hours later it looked great! (My husband even made the chandelier shorter so you can see the whole village, I have only been telling him to shorten it, since the day he hung it!!!)

I also mention yesterday, that I was going to get some crafting done while the hubby was gone hunting!! That make me Happy!! This is what my 11 foot island looks like;

Crafty supplies right from one end to the other, even put the recipe holder to use, holding my project ideas!!

I am happy about what I got accomplished yesterday, but I will need a few more days like that to get all I want to make for Christmas gifts made!

Happy Monday all,

I know it is Monday which means I am supposed to be sharing crafty goodness with you, and there is lots of crafting going on, but sadly no pictures have been taken yet.

I had my cousin and her daughter here for a great visit. My husband left this morning for 3 days hunting, so the paper is going to fly!!! I have so many projects in my head, I really need to make a list.

My hubby loves to hunt, and that is what November is all about to him!! To me, it means uninterupted crafting, eating such things as stir-fry, chilli, alphagetties, and other such non approved food, that the kids and I enjoy!! It also means I get the whole bed to myself, can you say starfish!!!

I am working on my chistmas gift packs, and will be taking pictures later this afternoon of a few of the things going into the packs, so I will have pictures for next Monday, I promise!!

We had our first snow of the year yesterday, actually you could say we had out first storm, it was pretty ungly. The kids have no sense of feeling, or temperature, I am sure, they were out quading, and pulling the sled around having a blast.

Friday Confessional

Hello, Happy Friday!!

I confess, this has been a busy week, I feel like all I have done is drive, drive here, drive there....

Last week while building corrals, my husband put his back out, which puts him in a lot of pain.

-Monday morning off to the city to visit the chiropractor, home by noon, off to town by 3 for the kids to go trick or treating, home for supper, then out trick or treating at the neighbors out on the farm

-Tuesday morning off to the city with my daughter for an orthodontist appointment, then to Home Depot to order a few more blinds for a few more rooms, a few more appointments, then home for supper, and off to town for Zumba

-Wednesday morning off to the city for hubby to visit chiropractor again, home by noon, got called in to work short notice, was supposed to be there for 1:00 and only got called at 1:30

Thursday morning off to work again, and home for supper and off to Zumba

oh, yeah forgot to mention, hubby got the flu Wednesday night, real nice!

Today, well, a whole lotta cleaning gotta go on!!!

I know, I know, that wasn't really much of a confession...but I do have something better

I Confess

I got a new tattoo a few weeks ago!!

2 of them actually, but 1 needs a little fixing, so I can't show you it yet

I have been wanting one on my foot for quite some time, but was not sure how to go about getting what I wanted. I really wanted a dragonfly with my kids names in the wings. There was 2 problems with that, the first being, the dragonfly has 4 wings and I only have 3 kids, and the second being, 'Stephanie' is a pretty big name to put in a little wing.

After much thought, I figured I would go with 3 butterflies, 2 blue ones for the boys, and a pink one for Steph

(and yes, just so you know, getting a tattoo on the top of your foot does hurt...lots!!!)

Last Thrusday I attended a Zumba class in my town, wow was that the kick in the butt I needed. I used to work out....used to being the word. We used to live in town, and after my hubby left for the farm and the kids left for school, it was the perfect time to workout, shower, and get on with my day.

NOW, we live at the farm, the kids still leave for school, but the hubby doesn't go out of the house right away, he sits and has coffee, so I have to sit and have coffee with him, don't get me wrong, I Love this time with him, but by the time he goes out, well it is time to get the housework going or other such things

back to the Zumba class, it was great, and got me going, up the next day to workout again, it felt great, love that burst of energy you get!!

Zumba again this week, and home workouts again!!

Made a whole new Pin Board, and Inspirational/Motivational one!!!

I need posters of this around

So true, and we need to remember this when we don't lose weight after the first workout!

Not too much to be "dressing up" for these days, I know, the whole point of What I Wore Wednesday, is to get us out of our yoga pants, which I don't often wear anyway, but when you are cleaning the house, and being called by your husband to come outside and help him, it really doesn't call for good clothes and accessories.

I did manage to take one picture this week, I had to run my husband to the city to the chiropractor, quick trip, back home by noon

Hey, I guess it is Monday again...already

Kind of have pumpkins on the brain this last few days, fall is everywhere.

So I whipped up a batch of Pumpkin cupcakes, and even my youngest who won't eat pumpkin pie said these were good

Pumpkin Cupcakes

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon coarse salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
4 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin puree
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.Line cupcake pans with paper liners; set aside. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and allspice; set aside.

In the bowl of a stand mixer, fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter, and eggs. Beat on medium speed until well combined. Add dry ingredients, and mix on low until smooth. Fold in pumpkin puree.

Divide batter evenly among liners, filling each about halfway. Bake until tops spring back when touched, and a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes, rotating pans once if needed. Transfer to a wire rack; let cool completely.

Happy List October 11

hmmmm let's see, I know I am not happy about being up this early this morning, I would much rather be in my nice warm cozy bed!!

I am happy that my family was able to all gather together and have family pictures taken this last weekend!!

I am Happy that while we had the photographer here, we were also able to get my husbands whole family together for more pictures, now we are good for a few years!!

I am happy that my family felt at home in my house, while I was off getting other pictures taken

This is my nieces, up on the area above our front closet!! Interesting to see after everyone had all gone home, lol

This is my Sister-in-law her 2 beautiful daughters (the ones that can jump up on top of a 6 foot closet) and my sister

I am happy that Thanksgiving is over, and I don't have to cook another turkey for at least 3 months, but I am thinking, we might try something different for Christmas

I am happy that we were able to get all of our cows and calves home from the pasture yesterday!!

We have bought the pasture about 4 years ago, and have to haul our cow/calf pairs there every spring, and bring them home every fall, and everything worked with us, the stars aligned, the traffic cooperated, and we were able to get all 80 pairs home in 1 day!!! We have never had that happen before!!

I am happy that our builder is here putting up our new barn, so our cows will have a place to stay warm this winter!!

I am NOT happy, I just heard on the radio, this is supposed to be the coldest winter in 20 years....I don't like cold.....scratch that....I HATE being cold!!

on a side note here, I took a holiday yesterday from I Made it Monday, but stay tuned I will be back next week, with a giveaway!!!!

Friday Confessional October 7

I Confess, I am a little frustrated, I DO NOT speak Spanish

I Confess, I got a new cell phone this summer, and I was really on the fence for quite some time, I could no decide between the Iphone and the Black Berry.

I Confess I held on to my old phone because of this, even though the send button did not always work.

I decided to go with the Black Berry, after all, I already had an Ipod touch, did I really need 2 of them??

I Confess I am not very technically inclined, it really took some getting used to. I have come to like my Black Berry, I will not say love because we are not there yet

BUT

this last week it has come to my attention, that I DO NOT speak Spanish, or I guess I should say, I DO NOT read Spanish

This World Wide Web is a wonderful thing, man if you need to know something in a matter seconds, you can be full of knowledge!! That being said, if someone enters something on the internet, in a matter of minutes, tons of people can be sending Black Berry Messenger Requests!!

I Confess I would NEVER put my PIN number out on the internet, I see others doing it all of the time on Facebook, Why they do this is beyond me!!

All it takes is 1 number or letter entered incorrectly, and bang, little old me in Canada is getting tons of BBM requests in Spanish

I Confess, I am frustrated, it started on Monday. I phoned the store where I had purchased the phone, only to be told "they had never heard of this before"

After 4 days of this, I phone my Wireless Provider, their answer "Completely remove Black Berry Messenger from you phone". Does not matter if you use this app, the only way to stop this is to remove it

So I do this. and think well at least I have stopped it from happening, I will just have to text my hubby rather than with the BBM, no big deal

I Confess, I did consider meeting some Spanish folks, I mean never hurts to have new friends right???

-We are finished harvest!!! Happy, the weather cooperated with us, the crops were great, and there were no major hiccups along the way. It has been about 10years since we finished this early, good thing because we still have barn to build and the cows to bring home from pasture.

-I signed up to sell Scentsy!! I am so excited for my box of goodies to arrive.

-I spent the day with my hubby yesterday, we bought a new manure spreader, and had to pick it up. We went to the city first and did a little shopping. I went to Pier 1 and the dishes I have around my kitchen were on clearance, Happy!! When we got home, my hubby noticed that I was using rocks on my cabinet tops to lean the dishes on, so out to the garage he went, and built special little things for the dishes to lean on!!!

-My whole family is coming this weekend for Thanksgiving!! We are getting family pictures taken here on the farm, first time on over 11 years. They are so needed, my youngest son was not even born when the last set was taken

-I love to read, and man am I reading a great book right now, Barbra Delinsky- More than Friends, it is awesome, very hard to put the book down

I Made it Monday

I seen this idea a while back on Pinterest, and thought it would look great on my table.

When my husbands grandfather passed away he left us his table. Grandpa & Grandma bought this table after they got married, over 60 years ago, and it was used when they bought it, so it could be over 100 years old. We refinished it and bought new chairs, this set is now in our dining area, and we use it every night for supper (yes we actually sit together every night as a family)

When I seen the idea of the doily runner, I started asking around for old doilys, some of them were even grandmas, so maybe they have been on this table in the past.

I gently sewed the doilys together by hand at the spots where they touch, no worries, no doilys were harmed in the making of this runner

WE ARE FINISHED COMBINING!!!!! I can blog play again!!! This is the first year in about 10 years that we have been finished in September! So I am back to taking pictures of my outfits, making crafty goodness, and playing along with some of my other favorite bloggers.

I have to work at the library today, and plan on wearing an outfit inspired from Pinterest

I very rarely wear my wedding rings, my MIL lost her diamond here on the farm, and I am NOT going to let that happen to mine, I wear my rings when I am going to the city or other such things, so I LOVE this idea, just a nice little tattoo, not big and screaming for attention, just for us to know about!

now isn't this just the truth!!

I Made it Monday #10

Monday again, and what a beautiful Monday it is for September 26th, still able to wear shorts here on the farm. Just drained our pool and cleaned it all up yesterday.

Harvest is still going on, but my sister in law has come to drive the combine for a few days, but with any luck we will be finished today or tomorrow

We got a little rain shower last weekend, and it gave me a day to go get groceries, and then a morning to do a little baking.

I decided to make Cinnamon Twists, or Scuffles some people call them
5 Cups of Flour
2 Cups of margarine
1 Cup of Milk
2 eggs, beaten
2 tsp Baking Powder

Cut margarine into flour and baking powder, add milk and eggs

Instead of using flour to roll out the dough, use a mixture of 1 cup sugar and 2 tbsp of cinnamon

roll out dough as you would for a pie crust

I use a plate and a pizza cutter to 'cheat' to get perfect circles

use the pizza cutter and cut the circle into 8 triangles

roll the wedges from the wide end to the narrow end, and place on cookie sheet

bake at 375 for 20 minutes, let cool and enjoy!

my family loves these, I made them Saturday morning, and they were half gone by Sunday morning!!

I make these at holidays and they freeze well too

One year ago today...

a year ago today, turned into almost the worst week of our lives.

One Tuesday morning in September 2010 we woke up to the sound of Cody screaming and running upstairs, he came running into our room screaming, “there is a snake is Steph’s room” He then proceeded to tell us there was a snake is Steph dresser drawer, he was followed close behind by Steph who confirmed his story. The neighbour was called and the snake was caught and taken outside.

Later that day while cleaning the basement, Cody swears he seen another snake. We got Wilf over to help us find and capture. While looking for the snake we see one coming down from the ceiling tiles in Steph’s room. Wilf grabs him, puts him in a pail and decided he is going to move ceiling tiles to look for more, he finds 3 more. When Darc came home, he went outside to find where they were getting into the house, and finds a hole right at ground level, perfect for a snake to get in, and with the cold weather we had, had they must have been looking for somewhere warm to go. Darc filled the whole with spray foam, silicone, and put salt around to deter anymore snakes from getting in.

Needed less to say the kids moved upstairs, and the stairway was blocked off. The next afternoon Wilf came over to check and see if there are anymore, and finds 3 more up in the ceiling tiles again. We put out sticky traps that day as well.

Saturday night, after a day in the combine, Steph, Josh and I had just gotten home, and the kids were in bed in Josh’s room. I was sitting in the living room watching tv, when a snake slithered into the living room, looked right at me, and slithered back out, I didn’t know what to do, scream, cry, run... I called Wilf asked him to come, called Darc at the farm and told him, and in the time it took Wilf to find the snake, Steph and I had the van packed up and we headed to the farm.

Our new house was not ready so we camped out at Grandpa Eddies little house. Steph slept on the couch, Cody on a mattress on the living room floor, Josh on a mattress in the spare room floor, and Darc & I in the other room. We lived out of laundry baskets for a month.

When a mouse decided to come eat cinnamon toast crunch right beside Cody’s head early one morning, we decided enough was enough, and moved into the new house, even though it was not quite ready.

All in all 11 snakes were found in the house!

I still get goosebumps when I think about it, wake up from a dead sleep all creeped out. I will never forget the sound of a snake slithering on a ceiling tile, and I will probably ask my husband 100000000 times, "are you sure no snakes can get in this house"

Well it is Wednesday, the day I love to blog hop and see what everybody wore last week, love it! I get so many ideas for outfits, and so much inspiration. Sadly my wardrobe in the last few weeks, has been my Wrangler jeans, the tops vary, tanks tops on the warmer days, t-shirts for the others, and even hoodies for the cooler ones. I did not feel the need to photo these outfits.

This morning when I first got up at 7, I could see for miles, the view at our house is awesome!! but within minutes the fog rolled in, and I can't even see the trees in out back yard, not good drying weather for harvest. We are close to finished, and would just like to be done already.

This has deffinatley changed since we moved to the farm, the tv in the old house used to get turned on in the morning when the kids were getting ready for school, now it stays off all the way until they get home from school. Hubby and I like to veg at night after supper, so many only a few hours a day. (I will even admit, I have not watched Young and the Restless ALL SUMMER, however will I know what is going in)

{4} Do you think TV has gotten too "racy" (vulgar, pushing the limit, etc) ?

{5} How many TVs do you have in your house? 4, Upstairs Living room, Downstairs, Cody's room, and our room

Now perhaps since I still can't see past the deck, maybe I will go crawl back into bed, yup sounds like a good plan

Good Monday Morning!! As I yawn while typing this. We are stilling harvesting, but the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter!! Little rain over night causing a forced day off, not a bad thing, the poor pantry is getting empty.This weeks homemade goodness, is something I made this summer for my sister in law. She has a Kindle, and never had a cover for it. After talking about it with her, I found out she would like a book type cover, with a front and back, hmmmm how am I going to do this.I got the measurements from the internet, and went in search of something stiff enough to hold the shape of the book. Found light cardboard, and gave it a try. I also had to come up with a way to hold the Kindle into the cover, I made a small pocket on the bottom, just big enough to cover the keypad, but not the screen, and then I added and elastic that would slip around to the to to hold it in place.

I am still busy driving my combine, but we are over half done!!!! So I should be back to my regular blogging soon, I have another one of my blog friends helping me again this week, please welcome Kathleen from Simple Silly LifeHi! I’m Kathleen and I blog over at Simple Silly Life. My blog originally started out a few years ago as a journal about everyday happenings, but it’s morphed into a crafting/style outlet and a place where I’ve met some very cool people.I’m totally honored that Conni asked me to guest post today for I Made it Monday. I just love this weekly link up! It has encouraged me to pull out my glue gun, some fabric, paints, and scrapbook supplies and just be a little more creative than usual. Recently I made a scrapbook for a co-worker as her bridal shower gift. Usually when I make a scrapbook for a gift I have a template (well, I take pictures of the filled pages for all my albums and then pick the best layouts for the ten inner layouts). I use Recollection albums from Michael’s (bought with a 40% off coupon, of course) and use the couple’s initials as the cover.

This bride’s accent color was persimmon. Yes, I had to Google persimmon to make sure I even knew what that color was. Fortunately, I had some Cosmo Cricket paper from two years ago that was wedding themed and was loaded with persimmon goodness.I try to use bits of all the patterned paper on the title page that I’ll use for the rest of the book as a hint of what’s to come.

The inner layouts are embellished to be filled with photos later.

I hope the bride and groom can load it up with wedding and honeymoon memories.Can’t wait to see what you’ve created!

Wow, Thursday already, time flies when you are driving the combine, lol!! On the up side, 9 quarters done, 15 to go!!! The weather looks like we are good to go for the next week at least!I haven't had too much time to waste on Pinterest this week, but I did find a few things, mostly fall outfits, doesn't seem like fall, our temperatures have been in the 30s this week

So a few years ago when my hubby gave me a Sony e-reader for Christmas, I was so excited!!

too bad the cover had to be so boring and plain....but it gave me an idea, make my own cover for it.

It is harvest on the farm

These days are spent swathing, and combining, trying to get the crop off and in the bins while the weather is cooperating

I love summer, I love the heat, never can get too warm for my liking.

Harvest is my next favorite time of year!!

I LOVE driving combine!

These are my wheels for the next few weeks! It is amazing what you see, the wildlife, the critters, and the most amazing prairie sunsets!!

Funny how something as simple as a golden crop, can make you smile.

Did I mention I LOVE this time of year!!

I Confess my Interest has been Piqued

I am going to combine 2 posts in 1 today, I simply don't have the energy to make 2 posts. Why is it that all summer I have gotten up almost as early as the school year, when do I get my beauty sleep time??

I Confess, I have had a cranky week, you know it is bad, when even the youngest is walking softly around mom

I Confess, I have had a NASTY headache this week, turns out my neck is out of joint, but before it can be put back in place, the muscles around it, need to calm down back to wear they belong.

I Confess, I am booked for a massage this afternoon, and I am SO looking forward to it!!

Real Me~ My Style 4

Hello Wednesday

Last week was a busy week here on the farm, we had to unassemble s few grain bins, to reassemble them and put them up on hoppers, we had to finish making our silage bales, we had to re-build so fence in the pasture, and we had to get the bulls out of the pasture. On top of that we went and bought a new washer and dryer, and a new bed for our middle son, who was tired of falling out of his twin size one. We went a bought a few more trees for our yard, and I had my youngest and oldest go to camp. Never a dull moment on the farm, lol

Even with all of that going on I did manage to get a few pictures of the outfits I did wear.

Welcome to another Edition of I Made it Monday!!

You may know that I take part in a fashion linky, and I visit lots of other girls in these linky parties. I have been noticing these great rosie necklaces (at least I think they are great)

I noticed Nikky's here on her blog, Momma gets real, well she makes these necklaces and sells them in her Etsy store

I bought one, and when it came in the mail, I fell in love with it, it is perfect, lays perfect, nothing scratchy, just all rosie goodness.

I decided I needed a matching bracelet.

so I made one!! I happened to have the same white knit material as the necklace roses were made of, so I sat with my glue gun, got a few burns, (man that thing gets hot!!) and came up with this.

I am pretty happy with the results.

Time for another edition of I made it Monday!!

As you know I wear glasses, and I also have sunglasses, so I am switching back and forth. I do not like the idea of just putting my sunglasses in my purse to get scratched up.

I went in search of a tutorial of how to make a sunglass case

I found a few, and altered and combined a few of them, and here are the results

This one I made for my daughter, she has since reminded me that she has more than one pair of sunglasses, and would like more than one case!!

now my glasses or sunglasses are nice and safe when I throw them in my purse or bag

Happy List~August 6

I have had the best week!!!

I am so happy that I was able to get to the lake with my children. The lake is the best place on earth!! We stay in a beach front cabin, in our own little world.

I am Happy we were able to spend a few days with my whole family, and even Happier that we were able to spend a few days just us!

The weather was great, sun everyday, lots of fireworks at night. Lots of time spent in the water, boating, tubing, surfing, canoeing...and just plain sitting.

My youngest is just a fish at the lake, he runs right off the end of the dock, jumps right in the water, any time of the day, or many times a day.

The 4 big kids went surfing behind the boat...

...and just happened to fall off the surf board a time or 20

These next 2 shots really make me happy, I LOVE them

The lake is the best place to be!!

Another thing I am Happy about this week, my bed arrived!!

I have wanted a real, wood headboard, foot board and rails, ALL OF MY LIFE.

Last year while we were build our new house, we had to find a place to get new chair made for our 60 year old Oak table, we found an Amish store, that made real wood furniture, and it was very well made. We ordered our chairs, and have had for about 6months now, we love them, we are very happy with them, nice and sturdy, well made, great service. When we decided to purchase a bed, it was a no brainer where we would get it from. I picked out the style I liked, the wood I wanted and the color of stain. The bed was ready to be picked up while we were at the lake, and I happened to have the truck, so I picked it up on our way home.

Love it, it makes me very Happy!!

My middle son, says when he gets a new bed, that is just the one he wants, I told him I had to wait 37 years to get my grown up bed!

3 great women and I took a Wilton Cake Decorating Class, in July, and our final project was to make a cake. I made my cake, and saved it for a family gathering for my dad's birthday.

I am HAPPY, as you are reading this, I am at the lake!!

Picture beautiful, lake front cabin, lounge chair on the deck, children playing in the sand and water. Cold Adult beverage in my hand, sunglasses on, and a good book!!

I Am not happy that my hubby is not here with us, but he was the one who said, "go without me, you need a holiday"

I am Happy that I got a super package in the mail this week from my friend Dawn, at Creative Cain Cabin, we traded a few goodies back and forth and I got mine this week!!

I Am Happy that we are finished out Wilton cake decorating class, and I am very happy about my final cake (you will have to stop by on Monday, for I Made it Monday to see the finished product)

I am very Happy that I also received my fabric from Sweetwater Scrapbook this week, and I have been sewing up a storm, making all kinds of goodies

I Confess, I didn't sleep well last night!

I Confess, I was a little miffed at the hubby

I Confess, the darn dog caused my wakefullness, and my stress

We moved from town less than a year ago, in town we locked all doors every night. In town we never had a dog, that barked all night. We now live on the farm, with the darn dog. Don't get me wrong he is a great dog...until he stars barking at 2AM.

I ask the hubby to see what the dog is barking at, he looks out the window says he can't see and crawls back into bed.

The dog keeps barking, now he of off the deck and all around our house.

I ask the hubby to go see what the dog is barking at, and check the doors are locked

WHAT DOES HE DO???

He rolls over cuddles up and tells me to go back to sleep, which all the rest of you women know, Ain't gonna happen!!

So I get to lay there for another hour, having all kinds of terrible thoughts roll through my mind, because our doors aren't locked.....

I Confess I really need to get used to this farm living, lol

I Confess I am on the my to the lake today, the kids and I, sadly without the hubby, due to a vehicle misshap, that had my van being towed to the dealership earlier this week.

Real Me~ My Style 3

Wow it is the last week in July already, summer is half over!

I have put together a few outfits this last week, nothing great though, trust me. The Idea of these post is to get us out of out yoga pants and t-shirts and into something better, that I can do, but apparently what I can't do is anything great with my hair!!
I have had my hair short for the past 13 years, and this length is new to me, but as you can see I get up every morning and put a clip in it, and that is how it stays. I may have to change these posts to What I did With my Hair, lol

In the first outfit, when I got up that morning, is was yucky, rainy, wet & windy

I had to be in the city that day for dentist appointments, and wouldn't you know it, half way to the city it was nice and clear and sunny, warm too. Good thing rolled up jeans are in style

My Happy List this week, includes my Keurig Coffee Machine, Love it!! I am not a die hard coffee drinker, not hardly even a seasoned coffee drinker. I only started drinking coffee about a year ago when our Keurig came to live with us.

I am Happy for my 1 cup of coffee every morning!! Especially rainy cool morning like this one.

I am Happy that some of my projects on my to-do list are getting done.

I am Happy that my hubby and I had a great date night the other night for our 10th Anniversary

10 years ago today I married the best guy ever!!

Early on when we were dating he said to me "you know how they say there is somebody out there for every one? I think I found my someone" I know I found my someone!!

{1} What would you do with an extra $1000 a month? I am not sure, I would be able to purchase the little decorator things I want for my new home, and after that I would save it to be able to travel.

{2} What category of blogger do you think you best fall under? I would like to think I am still a rookie, but getting better

{3} What is your go to solution when you are having a bad hair day? a butterfly clip or a pony tail, some flowers pinned here or there work too, nobody needs to know it is a bad hair day.

{4} If you were a Crayon, what color would you be??? Maybe purple

{5} They say love is in the little things. What is a little thing someone does to show you love? Having the house cleaned up and supper made after I have been gone for the day means a lot.

Happy List...I have so much that I am Happy about this weekend, aaaahhhhh life is good!!

I am Happy that my wonderful Husband celebrated his birthday, he is catching up to me!! Happy Birthday Sweetheart!!

I am Happy that the weather is nice and warm and sunny, and the kids have been able to enjoy the pool we bought them.

I am Happy about the Wilton Cake decorating class I am taking with a great friend, my wonderful daughter and my Sister In Law, we are learning lots, and enjoying it.

I am Happy that I have been able to get out and bike, I have logged 14 miles this last week!!

I am Happy that I won a blog contest at Simple Silly LIfe. I have met Kathleen through the blog world, and she seems like a wonderful girl.

I am Happy that I got my goodies, from said contest this last week, a pile of homemade birthday cards, and a cute homemade necklace, Which I did wear the other day, but sadly forgot to take pictures.

I am Happy That my kids, my Mother In Law, and my Sister In Law all took in the Cirque de Soleil yesterday, and again it was a great show.

Wow what a bunch of randomness, to be happy about...like I said life is good!

wow, what a place, you can search anything and see tonnes of images, all in one place

I have seen tones of great ideas, on things to make, things to decorate, things to wear... you get the idea

I seen this neat idea, and decided I was going to make one of these for our display board that sits in our dining room

This is mine, the colors in our open area are blue, and brown so I dug into my stash of blue buttons.

And as I sit here and type this I am drinking a wonderful Raspberry Lemonade slush
that I found

Rider Game

Happy Monday!!

Lots of stuff going on at the farm right now
-the kids of out of school for summer holidays
-Steph & I are taking a cake decorating class
-We bought the kids a pool to enjoy, now that we are out of town
& we took our biggest Rider fan to a Rider game!!

Our youngest son, is a major Saskatchewan Roughrider Fan, even his room is decorated in Green & White!!

My boys in all of their Rider gear. Josh told me the night before that he had his Rider socks, Rider shorts, Rider shirt, Rider Jersey, and his nice new Rider hat!!

This is the view from our seat, we are actually 4 rows from the very top of the stadium, but pretty good, to be able to see the whole field.

Later at that day, I asked Josh if it was all he thought it would be, his reply was, "Well, I thought they were going to win" He did say he would go to another game, even though, every time there was a good play, everybody would stand up, and of course when you are under 4 feet tall, you don't see much.

I am Happy for the new bloggy friends I have met in the last little while. Thanks to the wonders of internet, I have met some wonderful women, that I never would have been able to.

I am Happy, for my dad's 70th Birthday, Happy Birthday Dad, we love you!!

I am Happy it is game day, season opener for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, of the Canadian Football League, I am also happy that I will be watching todays game from the stands, rather than at home from my living room, GO RIDERS!!

I am Sew Happy, Last weekend while my parents were here my mom and I were discussing our chairs that are in the kitchen at the island. When we ordered these chairs, I really didnt like any of the options for upholstery,and I was told I could "easily" clean the off white microfibre that I picked.

Well it has only been 6 months and this is what they look like

I decided to check with the fabric store the other day while I was in the city. Did I find a deal, the perfect match to my curtains, I liked it, and it was only $3/m, which made me like it even more, so I bought lots, more than I needed, I have plans for the rest, table runners, place mats....You can't go wrong with $3/m!!

I am quite happy with them!!

Happy Canada Day!!

Wow it is Friday again already, and July already too.

I must confess first off I am so proud of my kinds, they all brought home excellent report cards!!! My daughter made the honor roll, and my middle JUST missed it. The youngest did great too, going into grade 4 next year!!

I confess the weather has been agreeable all week, it did rain last Sunday, but of course that was because we wanted to move a few of the cows, a little hail, nothing we couldn't wait out in the truck.

I confess I was pleasantly surprise this morning, when I was going through all of the new post for the blogs I follow to come across a friends post, about ME, check it out at Creative Cain Blog

I confess, I am going to try a few sewing projects this next few days. My daughter and I have signed up for a Wilton Cake decorating class, (stay tuned for yummy pictures of practise to come) We need apron for this class, so I am going to sew some.

I confess I never should have picked off white for the fabric on our stools at our island, they are awful now, I can't seem to keep them clean, I guess that is what I get for off white on the farm. I am going (to try)to sew some slip covers, that I can pull of and through in the wash. I took one of the curtain for match the color tot he fabric store, and found the perfect match, score, and it was only $3/ meter, SCORE so I bought lots more that I need for the 5 slip covers, with plans to maybe do placemats or a table runner too

I confess I am becoming addicted to Pinterest

Miscellany Monday....June 27

Happy Monday Morning

First off I will say I am getting very POed, but I am not sure what the cause of it. I am having issues posting comments on blogs, and posting on my own blog, as well as making changes to my blog. I did some updates on my computer a few weeks ago and ended up with Explorer 9, and hated it, so I downloaded Google Chrome, it is better, but there are still issues.

Second, tomorrow is the last day of school!! Which will be good for about the first week, until they all get bored, and start fighting.

Last but certainly not least I want to show you a few pics from my weekend

We hosted our house warming, and had roughly about 45 family and friends here.

This is just a sampling of the baking that was done

There were lots more men, but my picture taker was busy entertaining the small guests.

I know, I know it is Tuesday, but Monday was just to filled with goodness to sit in the house longer than I had to.

The weekend was good, grad in our little town, and I had been asked to take some pictures for some of the grads, as I posted yesterday in my link to my Photography blog, www.personalreflectionsphotography.blogspot.com

Monday was a good day,

My hubby and I had ordered blinds for some of our windows in the house, and I had picked them up on Sunday while flower shopping in the city. Monday morning the hubby proceeded to hang the blinds without even being asked.

I created 25 invitations for a party....

My Mother in Law and I planted all said flowers, and now my front door and deck just look wonderful, can't wait for all of the landscaping so I can get some perennials into the ground too

After the planting and supper, I went with my puppy Spike for our walk, we went 2 1/2 miles, getting a little farther every time.

While we were out walking Spike must have scared this deer out of hiding, he didn't go far, just stood and watched us

This morning as I sit and type this, while enjoying my coffee out on our deck, I can say I truly am happy and content living out on the farm in our new house. It is beautiful out, almost like sitting on the deck at the lake....without the lake.
Here I have Robins, and Bunnies running in my back yard, Owl that wake you up at night....but I love it and would not trade it for nothing.

Friday Confessional June 10

Joining Mamarazzi again the week to vent...I mean Confess what has been bothering me this week

I am feeling much better this week, than last, thank goodness!

but I must Confess that I have not always taken my meds as prescribed. I am busy and not always home when I should be taking them, but I am still taking them.

first off I Confess, I HATE Explorer 9 on my laptop, I did the upgrade without thinking....what was I thinking. I cannot properly leave comments on other blogs because of it. (I seem top be able to only leave comments from my computer on the blogs that have the pop up comment window, so perhaps if they were all like that I could leave more comment...hint hint)

I Confess I am using the desk top Computer today because it still has Explorer 8

I Confess it is much easier to use a computer with a 17inch screen than the 3 inch screen on my ipod touch to leave comments on other blogs

I Confess, I miss my poor Library

I was the Librarian at our local library, all by my self, in a town of 600, there is no need for more than 1 of us to be there.

I Confess, it was a mutual decision, between my hubby and I that I would step back to the replacement position and be home on the farm

I Confess that I was busy enough during seeding,that I didn't miss it

I work this last week for the new Librarian

I Confess, my poor library...

I must Confess the new librarian, is not much at housekeeping

I Confess, my poor books were screaming, all squished in the shelves

I Confess that my poor books were confused, not being in their proper places.

I Confess the first day in, I REALLY wanted to fix it all and clean it all up, but then remembered it is her place now, not mine, and if that was how she liked it, that was up to her.

I Confess by the 3rd day I could not stand it anymore

I Confess, I cleaned it all up, and fixed all the shelves

I Confess I felt much better afterwards, lol

I Confess I never thought of myself as a neat freak, but that drove me nuts!!

Friday Confessional~ June 3

I Confess this has been a sucky week.

It started out ok, and went down hill fast.

I Confess I love days spent with my hubby, he joined our daughter and I on a trip to the city last Monday. Took us out to supper at our favorite restaurant, Moxies

I Confess I LOVE the White Peach Bellinni at Moxies, Especially when you Moxie Size it!!!

I Confess the next morning when I woke up with a swollen cheek, I was not very happy, actually I was in a lot of pain.

I Confess I Hate the Dentist, HATE the Dentist

I Confess, this visit to the dentist wasn't that bad, except the cost of it, lol

I Confess I have no Cavities, all of the tests and x-rays said so

So what is the deal then

They figure I have a nasty sinus infection, pushing down on the top teeth causing them to have shifted, which is putting me in extreme pain.

I Confess they gave me Tylenol 3 for the pain, which I only took a few of, once I started throwing up I stopped taking them,

I still was throwing up, hmmmm oh wait that is also a side effect of the 500mg of Ammoxacilin he gave me

I Confess I am starving, supper last night was so good, but I was afraid to eat too much.

I still hurt this morning, but the swelling has gone down a bit, my children still think I look like a chipmunk.

I Confess this is a strange confessional, but what ever works, right??

I am not sure if this weeks picture made me smile or brought a tear to my eye.

My son is growing up way too fast

My son loves his toy tractors, loves them!!!

Still at 12 years old he is wearing the knees out of his pants because he is down pushing tractors around on the floor.

This was this last week, he got to seed some oats with the little tractor and the old drills around our house quarter.

I am not ready for him to grow up yet!!

Happy List~May 28

It is Happy List time again!!

It rained yesterday, and some over night, which means a nice lazy day today, THAT I am Happy for.

I am Happy for days like today, when the hubby is around and little jobs get done.

I am Happy we now have a step out into the garage from the house, it was supposed to be built over the winter, but the snow covered the supplies, then spring and busy...blah, blah, blah, this morning it got built.

I am Happy that my son's Industrial Arts project he built is now on the wall in his room!

I am Happy I have a Humming bird feeder hanging on my deck, wish I had a nice wind chime to go with it....

I am Happy that the last 'catch up' load of laundry is in the washer, even all of the coverall and sweaters that we were wearing last weekend in the rain when we hauled out the cows.

I am Happy that we only have (according to my hubby) 2 quarters left to seed

I am Happy that I got to go to Saskatoon this last week to watch my daughter compete in the District High School Track & Field. She did wonderful to get that far!! I am so very proud of her!!

Friday Confessional~May 27

But before I get into my confessions.

Happy Birthday Mama, Today is my mom's birthday, and it is days like this that I wish we weren't 4 hours apart. I would love to just pick her up and take her for munch and shopping. Happy Birthday Mom, hope you have a great day!! If I could find a way to get a Mama Burger delivered I would!!

Ok, now on to the confessions!

I Confess, it is raining right now, and I am Happy about this, We are down to 1 quarter of Oats, and 2 Quarters that we are seeding for grass, so it is ok that it is raining, we need it.

I Confess, I thought I was going to be able to get a new washing machine, I was eyeing up all the pretty colored ones....hauled mine in to the fixed, turns out it was a part they put in 2 months ago, they put it in too tight. didn't even charge me to look at it. Bummer, they even had a big sale on this month, so a new washer was not even that bad.

I Confess I may have returned with said washer, and immediately washed 6 loads of clothes (hey, it has been broke all week, the laundry adds up)trying to see if they had really fixed it or not. (the new one is only on sale until Monday)

Miscellany Monday

Another Monday,another Miscellany Monday, a cold, windy, wish it were raining. It is cold and grey, and looks like it is going to rain, I really wish it would already!!

Well last week, we got lots more seeded, got stuck a few times.

Dropped the air cart right to the bottom of the tanks, unloaded the fertilizer onto the truck, sunk the truck to the frame, good day!! I forgot my camera when I went out there too, would have had some great mud pictures

My daughter advances on in her high school track and field, she goes to district this week!!

My washer big the dust again, this is the second time in 2 months, again we will load it up and haul it to get fixed, I think I should just be able to get a new one, I mean after all when the machinery starts giving them lots of grief they get new....

I mean who would love a new purple washer....

Sitting here with my foot up, yesterday while we were sorting the cattle to haul them out to the pasture, I stepped off the trough and twisted my ankle, feels real good right now, need to wrap it before todays haul

Friday Confessional~May 20

Once again I am joining Mamarazzi with her Friday Confessional

I Confess, I am tired, cranky......ok Bitchy is a better word.

Let me tell you about my day

-Get up at 7 to get the kids going

-get a phone call at 7:30 that the FIL and the Air drill are stuck out in the field

-Go with hubby and MIL for a 4 hour stint in the fields to get said stuck, and the grain truck that gets stuck all un-stuck

-get back home at 11

-come in house, get quick drink of water

-back out of house to go do the morning chores, poor cows are STARVING

-Husband says "you can make me a hamburger and fries for dinner" (notice he didn't say I will help you make dinner)

-out to drive hubby to his sprayer, and help him fill it

-wait for hubby to fill again

-Take water truck to the well to fill,

-return to yard,

-get in the house, able to get a quick drink of water

-hubby calls, "i need the water truck back here again"

-get back to yard

-get another quick drink of water

-MIL comes, says " you need to come with me to get grain truck from field"

-get to field, help fill grain cart

-bring truck back to yard

-it is now 6:30

-run into hubby in the yard, he says "i will be back in about an hour for supper" (notice again no offer of help)

-get into house, start supper

-MIL again says i need you to bring truck home

-get back to house at 8pm, supper still not made

-get in house, get both sons in the shower

-finish making supper

-eat

-do dishes

-fold laundry

-clean bathroom

-9pm have shower

I confess I am cranky, and tired!!

add in 1 house guest that is very sick and has been coughing all night long for the last 8 nights

I confess I am cranky today, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day

I have been checking out lots of blog in the passed months, and came across a few that once a week, post pictures of what they wore,in hopes that this would get them out of their jammies and yoga pants. Us stay at home moms tend to go with the old comfy standbys, and don't often step out of our boxes.

While checking all of these blogs,I have gotten some great outfit ideas, and have tried a few new things, with the stuff I have. I have been wanting to join in on these link ups for a bit now. Sadly today I was able to take a picture of what I have been wearing.

Keep in mind, we farm, and it is right in the middle of a very busy seeding season.

Jeans; Wrangler, I have 4 pairs of the same jeans because they are so comfy, so it may look like I am wearing the same pants all week but I am not
Sweater: hubby brought it home, again I have about 4 hoodies, so I just switch them out

I will dress better once things here calm down, promise!

I follow Kathleen at Simple Silly Life, and I seen she did Miscellany Monday, from Carissa at lowercase letters

We have got into the field here on the farm, getting the crop in the ground, which is a good thing!

My husband used the old drills to seed some oats right up by our yard to help dry the ground out so we can get it all leveled and ready for tree planting next year.

Then his dad came with the new drills and seeded the rest of the field with Canola, I can already see the beautiful canola filed pictures I am going to be able to take this summer

Last weekend my daughter and I watch Cupcake Wars on the Food Network, which made me want cupcakes. so I thought I would try a new recipe for Mocha Butter cream icing, on top of chocolate cupcakes

I thought they were great so did the rest of the family because they didn't last long

Mocha Butter cream
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup Crisco
4 cups icing sugar
3-4 tbsp coffee mix well

We are still seeding, 1000 acres in already, 2600 still to go, but it is windy as all get out today, I have washed the dirt of my face at least 3 times already and it is only just passed noon, would really like a shower....

It is supposed to rain tomorrow, so then I should be able to get to the city for groceries

Sour Cream Raisin Pie

This is my hubby's favorite pie, I had to try a few different recipes before we found the winner!

Gather up all of the ingredients needed

Mix them together in your pot

add your raisins

While mom is mixing and cooking pie stuff, daughter gets to un-mix cereal in the container, which it was accidentally poured into. Good thing there is a big difference between Rice Krispies and Cinnamon Toast Crunch!!

pour pie filling into already baked pie shell, let cool

Top with meringue, enjoy!!

The recipe actually says, Don't even think about counting calories in this one!!

1-9inch pie shell, baked
2 cups Sour Cream
1 cup Raisins
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
3 egg yolks
3 tbsp flour 2 tsp vanilla

mix together in a pot, bring to boil, continue to boil until mixture is thickened. Pour into baked pie shell

My happy list this week is really what I should have posted last week. I hosted my whole family here at Easter, we had a great time, the weather somewhat cooperated and we ate drank and were merry!!

I am Happy that we now have the house that is big enough for the whole crew to come, and be able to stay over.

I am Happy that we also have the space outside, for everyone to be out and enjoy themselves.

I am Happy that my son was able to do some dirt biking with his cousin

I am Happy that the guys were able to get out for the annual Gopher hunt

My brother, my dad, my favorite brother in law, and my hubby

I am Happy that while they guys were away us girls were able to enjoy some Bud Light Limes, and Wine

mom, my wonderful sister in law, my sister, and myself

I am Happy that we decided instead of cooking a huge turkey meal this year we went with Steak and potatoes, and salads, and it was amazing, so good!!

I am Happy that we did get 1 more picture of all of the adults (I wish we could have gotten a whole family picture)

I am happy that everyone went home happy and full, my mission accomplished!!

I am Happy that the weather is finally warming up, the snow is almost all gone, the trees are starting to get some buds, and the grass is just starting to turn green!!

I am Happy that our local school had it's annual spring dance last night, and not only my daughter went, but my middle son went too!!

Well I guess I had better stop there and save some happiness for next weekend, lol
